Greetings and welcome to open registration for the 2016 Washington Seaplane Pilots Association (WSPA) fly-in to Priest Lake scheduled for Friday September 9th thru Sunday September 11th.

The event will once again be held at Tanglefoot Seaplane Base (D28) located on lovely Cavanaugh Bay.  Last year, we had a tremendous response with some 70 attendees and approximately 30 aircraft. We hope to have the same response this year and we are pleased to announce the return of our featured Saturday night speaker, famed aeronautical engineer, Mr. Burt Rutan.  With a little luck, Burt will be able to show us his latest aircraft, the Skigull.

The WSPA, will be providing meals on-site but ask that you bring your own beverages for social hours.  To help defray the cost of food, we are going to ask you to register in advance this year on the WSPA website.

The registration fee is $50 per aircraft.  We will also gladly accept donations at the event.

In addition to Burt’s discussion on Saturday night, we will be holding three events Saturday morning including a short invasive species discussion and safety talk.  We also plan to host a small group of Boy Scouts seeking their Aviation Merit Badge. We hope several attendees will be able to help us out with this exercise, as it will involve a flight for the boys.  On Saturday afternoon we are planning a fly-out to a special beach on Priest Lake, capped with a pre-dinner social hour at the Fenwick’s.

Last of all, I would like to thank Olson and Loel Fenwick for the gracious opportunity to once again utilize their private residence and grounds for this fly-in.  This is truly a unique spot on earth.

More details on our agenda, camping and lodging recommendations will follow in the weeks to come.

On behalf of the Board of WSPA, we look forward to meeting all of you.  If you need to contact us by phone, I have listed the numbers below. Fly safe and have fun.
